This project's goal was to bridge two offline ad-hoc mesh networks across long distances and route Bitcoin Lightning Network transactions over them. Offline mesh networks across long distances solve problems like disaster scenarios and off-grid transactions in areas where network connectivity is limited.
The two meshes consisted of three Raspberry Pis each, all running Bitcoin Core and Core Lightning, connected over two HaLow devices. Lightning channels were opened and funded without a direct internet connection. A single gateway Pi relayed chain data to the wider Bitcoin network.
